NQT Support and Professional Development

STSA offers a programme of CPD and support events throughout the year, which NQTs can attend free of charge. Booking should be made via NQT manager by clicking here.




NQT CPD Programme 2019-20

The following sessions are included in the NQT package for 2019-20 and so are free of charge. Sessions are open to NQTs from all phases (Early Years, Primary and Secondary).

Survive and Thrive in your NQT Year Mon 21st October

An opportunity to share effective practice and discuss concerns and queries on a range of topics including:
  • establishing expectations
  • classroom management
  • behaviour
  • managing workload and stress
Inclusive Teaching (Slough Borough Council) Mon 25th November
2-5pm
Inclusive practice and quality first teaching – what is best practice for new teachers in how to include pupils with special educational and other needs into their classrooms.
Developing classroom cultures and responses to social, emotional and mental health needs.
How can you manage difficult situations with pupils?

An opportunity to think about what happens after the induction period, including career planning and development.
NQT Conference Wed 3rd June (TBC) A whole day conference with a range of sessions focussing on teaching and learning.
NQT Celebration Wed 15th July
4:15-5:30pm
Join us to celebrate the successful completion of the induction period.

At times there will be other training events offered by our partnership schools and other providers, which NQTs may be able to attend. Some of these may have a cost and they will be advertised by the schools delivering the training via STSA.
