CPD offered by Slough Schools

From time to time other CPD opportunities are offered by local Slough schools or other providers. Details will appear here as appropriate.

Langley Grammar School Free computing sessions for primary schools through the Digital Schoolhouse. See here for further details.
Slough Nursery Schools Network Series of “Nosey Teas” providing an opportunity to make an informal visit to local nursery schools to see what they do. For more details see here.
Upton Court Grammar School "Leadership coaching." The school has worked for the past year with Growth Coaching International and is hosting two programmes this year:
  1. The first programme is a Coaching Accreditation Programme (details can be found here) and GCI charge £1250 for the full programme. The dates for this would be:
    Phase 1 (face2face) = 24th and 25th March 2020
    Phase 2 (online learning with some coaching) = between 20th April and 5th June 2020
    Phase 3 (face2face) = 9th and 10th June 2020
  2. The second programme is an Introduction to Leadership Coaching (details can be found here) and GCI charge £335 for this programme. The dates for this training are 11th and 12th June 2020.

Maths Hub

There are 35 designated Maths Hubs across the country, bringing together mathematics education professionals in a collaborative national network. Each hub is locally led by an outstanding school or college, to develop and spread excellent practice, for the benefit of all pupils and students. The Bucks, Berks and Oxon (BBO) Maths Hub is based at Wycombe High School. The Maths Hub programme is supported by the National Centre for Excellence in Teaching Mathematics and funded by the DfE. The hub covers the following areas:

  • Buckinghamshire - to just north of Aylesbury
  • Berkshire - Reading, Bracknell Forest, Wokingham, Windsor, Maidenhead, Slough
  • Oxfordshire - including Bicester, Oxford and Wantage

Science Learning Partnership

STEM Learning has a network of 50 Science Learning Partnerships delivering professional development at a local level across England. Science Learning Partnerships (SLPs) combine local expertise in teaching and learning in Science, facilitating high quality CPD through a range of full day or twilight sessions.

Our local Science Learning Partnership is St Clement Danes School in Chorleywood, working with schools within the West Herts, South Bucks, Hillingdon, Slough, Maidenhead and Marlow areas. For further information please click here.

Slough Music Service

Slough Music Service is the local music service for Slough, Berkshire, and lead organisation of the Slough Music Education Hub.

A not for profit service, part of Slough Borough Council's Education and Children's Services and funded by central government, the Music Service provides music lessons, training and events in and outside school for children and young people in Slough.
